About Me

Hey y'all! Welcome to Sweet Home Soaps! I'm Mandy and I'm the owner of this little soap shop in a small town called Maylene in Alabama. I have 6 children ranging in age from 8 to 26. In fact, my then 9 year old took some of the pictures featured in this section! I am also a Neonatal ICU nurse and have been for over 29 years. I have always been crafty and enjoy cooking/baking sourdough, knitting, and photography. Soaping combines my love for baking (measuring things precisely, combining different additives, calculating percentages) and my artistic side (design and color theory). It turns out that I happen to be pretty good at it! My family, friends, and neighbors have enjoyed my efforts so far and honestly I have way more soap than we could ever use, so I decided to set up shop in May of 2019. I hope you find something you love because you deserve to use the good soap. You're worth it!
